OUR SOCIAL NETWORKING POLICY: This section outlines MBT policies related to the use of Social Media. Please note; each counselor conducts themselves as mental health professionals both physically and virtually. This is in regard to how they respond to various interactions that may occur on the Internet. Unfortunately, counselors cannot accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.). MBT takes the position that adding clients as friends or contacts on such sites can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. It may also blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship. MBT has a Facebook Page for the professional practice to allow people to share informative posts, pertinent articles and practice updates with other Facebook users and groups. Clients are welcome to view our Facebook Page and read or share articles or Blogs posted there, but cannot accept clients as Fans of this Page. MBT believes having clients as Facebook fans creates a greater likelihood of compromised client confidentiality and feel it is best to be explicit to all who may view such a list of fans to know that they will not find client names on the list.
