Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern
ISW # 11808
Life and its experiences are really marked on the brain. I am terribly smitten with neurology. The brain is so amazing. It can change at any age.
I have been reading Freud’s work for many years and am totally fascinated by Freud’s writings on dreams. I realize that there are other ways of interpreting dreams as well.
Because I am EMDR-trained, I offer excellent and very successful trauma interventions. I have experienced neurofeedback which is another great way of changing the brain. I work with adults, children, teens, the older adults, couples, families, LGBTQ, and individuals in an atmosphere of understanding, great kindness, hope and respect.
I have a Clinical Masters of Social Work Degree from Walden University Minneapolis, Minnesota. Also a Doctor of Psychology degree (All but dissertation) Santa Barbara, California. I am certified in Addictions, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Rapid Resolution Therapy that includes Hypnosis certification, and Transgender certification.
I was a Professor of English for more than two decades on three continents. I taught college English to undergraduates and witnessed the downhill movement of the quality and attitude of the students. I also saw that many of them seemed to have psychological issues and decided that I should earn a living treating them rather than trying to teach them.
I enjoy meeting scholars and mental health practitioners from various countries around the world.
And maybe the most important thing is that the types of therapy I do are FAST. EMDR can help neutralize trauma or serious life issues in much less time than other standard interventions take.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
